Origins in Public Service

Founded in the 1980s, Laborers' Local 1322 emerged from a dedicated group of Public Service members from the Department of Public Works in Cranston, RI. It was established with a clear mission in mind: to advocate for the rights and welfare of workers serving the local community. In its early days, the local focused primarily on representing the interests of these dedicated public servants.

Expanding Boundaries

As time went on, Laborers' Local 1322 recognized the need to extend its reach in order to better serve the needs of the greater community. With a commitment to excellence and a desire to expand their impact, the local embarked on a journey of growth and diversification.
Today, Laborers' Local 1322 stands as a testament to this evolution. Having expanded its horizons, the local now extends its services to several communities, serving not only public works departments but also private water service and healthcare companies. A prideful accomplishment, we now represent workers in nursing homes and even the esteemed VA Hospital.

A Wide Array of Services

The members of Laborers' Local 1322 are involved in a diverse range of occupations, all aimed at serving the public good. Our dedicated workforce includes water commission employees, ensuring the reliable provision and maintenance of this precious resource. Additionally, our skilled school bus drivers play a vital role in the safe transportation of students, ensuring they arrive at their destinations promptly and safely.
Furthermore, our local is proud to count public works employees among our members. These dedicated individuals are the backbone of our infrastructure, maintaining and improving the vital systems that keep our communities running smoothly.
The compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's) within Laborers' Local 1322 play a crucial role in the healthcare sector.
